The 2019 international vaulting calendar widens with a new CVI just for the 1* class. On March 16th and 17th Reggio Emilia (Italy) will host the first CVI organized by “Champions Factory”. The organizing committee, and especially Melanie Gruber and Stefano Gobbi, eagerly desired to create this new appointment for vaulting enthusiast, as they firmly believe on the importance of every kind of horseback riding, not only jumping or dressage.
Melanie Gruber and Stefano Gobbi are both athletes and company managers (https://thevaultingreview.com/vaulting-at-cere-cvn-reggio-emilia/?lang=en), so they know how important it is to support the growth of something when it seems promising (like equestrian vaulting). This is particularly true in Italy, where this sport is not very much considered among the other riding disciplines, although vaulters are constantly growing in number.
Nevertheless, Gruber and Gobbi have decided to take the risk and organize a national competition as well as CVI. They hope it could be particularly useful and attractive both for those Italian vaulters who need a qualifying competition to take part to the following CVIs (the next one will be at Easter in Vado di Fossalta di Portogruaro, Italy), and for foreign ones who want to upgrade to 2* class.
In order to encourage people to join, Gruber and Gobbi also promised rich prizes (looks like there might be the chance to win a holiday weekend in some touristic location).
The Vaulting Review also believes that the Champions Factory’s CVI might be a great opportunity for everyone, therefore we are going to follow the competition from start to finish, to report everything about it and to ensure the largest visibility of the event. So… stay tuned!
